Conditions of entry to our training areas

It is a condition of entry to our Dojos that the rules below are followed:

  1. Do not abuse your knowledge of the martial arts.
  2. Demonstrate good courtesy, respect and sportsmanship to each other.
  3. Bow into the training area as you enter and leave.
  4. Bow to your instructor and peers as you join or leave a group.
  5. Greet more senior students, and instructors with a bow.
  6. Address instructors by their title; or the generic term 'Sensei'.
  7. Obey all lawful directions from instructors.
  8. No sparring takes place except under the direct supervision of an instructor.
  9. No training equipment (including weapons) will be used without an instructor present.
  10. Keep an appropriate level of personal hygiene. This includes keeping fingernails and toenails short and clean; and washing your uniform between classes.
  11. Jewellery should not be worn when training. (Exceptions may be approved by instructors.)
  12. No profanity.
  13. Any student behaving in a disrespectful or dangerous manner will be asked to leave the floor.
